POBEDA: Biography
This exhibition pays tribute to the GAZ M-20 Pobeda (Victory)—an iconic Soviet automobile that became a symbol of post-war optimism. Conceived before World War II, its development resumed in 1943 and culminated in its release in 1946. The exhibition traces the car’s journey from its origins in the newly constructed industrial town of Avtostroy to its appearances in Soviet popular culture, including the film Spring starring Lyubov Orlova. The exhibition offers a rich collection of photographs, blueprints, family archives, personal memorabilia, and a specially produced audio play based on archival sources.

Zoyka's Apartment: Tragic Extravaganza
Set against the backdrop of 1920s NEP-era Soviet Russia, this production brings Mikhail Bulgakov's biting satire Zoyka's Apartment to the stage. At its heart is Zoya Peltz, a woman who runs a seemingly respectable fashion atelier that secretly doubles as a dating house. A tragicomedy of survival and illusion, the play captures the desperate dreams and disillusionments of a generation caught between shifting eras and moral ambiguity.

The beloved Music Over the Volga festival opens with a festive evening of symphonic brilliance. Lev Zhuravsky and Alexander Rublev, young virtuosos from St. Petersburg and international competition laureates, will take the stage alongside the orchestra. The program features Carl Maria von Weber's Invitation to the Dance, selections from the ballets of Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Aram Khachaturian, and Jean-Baptiste Arban's dazzling Carnival of Venice.

Strelka Arts Festival. Leonid Desyatnikov: Poor Liza and Music for Moscow
A classic of contemporary academic music and one of the most performed Russian composers today, Leonid Desyatnikov wrote his chamber opera Poor Liza—based on Nikolay Karamzin’s story—while still a student at the Conservatory. A few years later, it premiered at the Boris Pokrovsky Chamber Music Theater in Moscow. This is perhaps Desyatnikov’s most delicate and moving work, which we’ll hear as part of the Strelka Festival. The concert will also include his music for Alexander Zeldovich’s art-house film Moscow, based on a script by Vladimir Sorokin.
